Psychology

Eating behavior is influenced by many factors besides physiological ones. Neurogenic or psychological factors are extremely important and it is no coincidence that eating disorders manifest themselves as an expression of latent problems. Cognitive behavioral therapy and other areas of psychology are important tools in the emotional rebalancing necessary for an integrated and effective approach.

Some areas of intervention:
  • Bulimia nervosa
  • Food compulsion
  • Anorexia
  • Vigorexia
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

At MetaClinic, psychology is also integrated into support programs in the following areas:

  • Behavioral nutrition - a program of nutritional support and psychotherapy aimed at eating disorders and binge eating, for a healthier relationship with food. The program lasts a minimum of 4-6 weeks.

  • Integrated monitoring of obesity - a multidisciplinary team that includes an endocrinologist, nutritionist and psychologist in the treatment of obesity. The aim is not only to facilitate weight loss, but also to create the conditions for it to be maintained permanently with lasting changes in behavior. The program lasts a minimum of 3 months.
